With regard to our Securities law practice, we advise nonprofit clients concerning the unique application of federal and state securities laws to their operations. We serve as counsel to a number of church extension funds and church denomination finance arms which issue taxable bonds for the purpose of raising capital for the construction of facilities for the church and other organizations affiliated with the denomination or otherwise recognized by it. We advise these clients concerning compliance with the securities laws of all fifty states and the District of Columbia, and provide advice concerning the operation of national mortgage lending programs by these clients. We also act as borrower's counsel in tax-exempt bond issues for tax-exempt organizations and have advised universities and individual churches in connection with bond financings.
