For more than sixteen years, Bud has represented individual and corporate clients in hundreds of business-related lawsuits, ranging from real estate and landlord/tenant disputes, contract enforcement, insurance coverage disputes, shareholder litigation, municipal zoning and land use matters, and business torts such as fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and tortious interference with contract. In addition, he has advised clients regarding lease and contract drafting and lease interpretation.

Bud has also represented several different car dealerships in litigation, trials and arbitrations on matters arising out of the manufacturer/dealer relationship and relationships with customers, employees, and vendors.


Bud has taken cases to trial in the State and federal courts and has briefed and argued cases in the 3rd and 8th federal circuit courts of appeal, as well as in the Missouri Supreme Court and in the Courts of Appeal for the Eastern and Western Districts of the State of Missouri.

  • Miller, et al. v. City of Arnold, et al., No. ED 90425 (Mo. App. 5/27/2008)
  • Schwarz v. Waterway Gas and Wash Co. - Breach of contract dispute arising out of real estate sale transaction. 2003 WL 1798998 (Mo.App. E.D. 2003).
  • Zakibe v. Ahrens & McCarron, Inc. - Claim for breach of fiduciary duty against former officer and director or corporation. 28 S.W.3d 373 (Mo.App. E.D. 2000).
  • In re Alport - Nondischargeability action in bankruptcy to hold debtor liable for debts of corporate alter ego. 144 F.3d 1163 (C.A.8 (Mo.),1998).
  • Estate of Givens v. U.S. Nat. Bank of Clayton - Suit by former bank president for indemnification by bank of legal fees incurred in defense of action by Office of Comptroller of Currency. 938 S.W.2d 679 (Mo.App. E.D. 1997).
  • In re Trans World Airlines, Inc. - Obtained reversal of trial court’s holding that claims of defamation were discharged in by debtor’s bankruptcy. 96 F.3d 687 (C.A.3 (Del.),1996).
  • Dwyer v. ING Inv. Co., Inc. - Action to pierce the corporate veil of lessee under an equipment lease 889 S.W.2d 902 (Mo.App. E.D. 1994).
  • Welch v. Liberty Mach. Works, Inc. - Case holding that evidence that employee misrepresented qualifications on job application would bar him from recovering damages for handicap discrimination 23 F.3d 1403 (C.A.8 (Mo.),1994).
  • Educational Employees Credit Union v. Mutual Guar. - Action to recover credit union’s paid-in capital contribution from nonfederal credit union guaranty association. 821 F.Supp. 1294 (E.D.Mo.,1993).
