Chris’ practice focuses on acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, construction, and management of commercial, retail, residential, industrial, and hotel developments, as well as the organization of the ownership entities for such developments, land use law and other real estate development matters.
- Chris has extensive experience in connection with shopping centers.
- His practice is national in scope and includes real estate projects in 18 states ranging from California to North Carolina and the sale and/or acquisition of multi-state real estate assets.
- Chris has years of experience in dealing with national owners and tenants of retail and commercial space, including REITS, national and regional grocery store owners and tenants, and with national financing sources for real estate projects, including pension plans and other large institutional lenders.
Representative Transactions
- Assemblage of a 68 parcel site for redevelopment of a shopping center and construction, zoning and leasing matters for the shopping center.
- Disposition of 36 operating grocery anchored shopping centers in nine states in a single transaction by 36 separate but related owners to an UPreit.
- Construction and leasing of the second largest logistics facility constructed in the United States in 2002.
- Structuring and implementation of a three party tax deferred exchange involving three operating commercial properties.
- Structuring and implementation of joint ventures between an affi liate of a national supermarket chain and a regional developer for the construction of grocery anchored shopping centers.
- Assistance included joint venture documentation, acquisition, financing, leasing, and construction documentation.
- Acquisition of an approximately 50 acre site and platting and disposition to a discount department store and outparcel users.
